Silahtarağa Power Plant, which was established in 1914 in the Golden Horn, the oldest industrial zone of Istanbul, was opened in 2007 under the name of santralistanbul as one of the most comprehensive transformation projects ever carried out in the field of culture and arts in Türkiye.

It was also revolutionary that Istanbul Bilgi University—an important stakeholder of santralistanbul—started its Architecture Design Master’s Program (without Thesis) here. Moreover, architecture education was given within this industrial heritage, and they could directly observe architectural interventions. A lot has been written about it until today, but still the architectural story of santralistanbul has not been shared. The exhibition aims to satisfy this longing.
